A WINTER TIP

How to Control Moths - Without Hurting You.

Be sure woolen clothing is clean. If it can be washed, do so before storing. If the wool must be dry-cleaned, then hang it up OUTSIDE, never in your own bedroom, The chemicals used to clean can cause cancer. Air them out until the dry-cleaning odor is gone.

You can add a piece of paper that smells of some herbs such as peppermint or orange. (The essential oil herbs must be organic). This is much better and safer than mothballs, as they can cause cancer, but it must be done repeatedly because the odor does not last a long time.

The best answer for moths is to get some vacuum garment bags at the big chain grocery stores. Put the clothes inside, suck out the air and seal the bag like you do in the refrigerator with food. If your city has a “green” cleaners, take your clothing there. They use less or no toxic chemicals.

Another Tip

Would you like to clear up certain medical problems in one week?

Here is how others have done it, all on their own, but if you decide to do what others have done, you must promise to check it out with your personal physician first. Only your doctor knows your medical history well enough to say a diet is OK.

You have to do mainly two things. Try a 2 week diet. This diet has helped many with chronic multiple medical complaints. The first week you stop all diary, wheat, eggs, chocolate, corn, sugar, preservatives and dyes or food coloring. By the end of the first week, you should feel much better if you have a common food allergy. If you don’t, and you really did the diet, your problem is not the common allergenic foods. It is possible to feel worse for the first 3-4 days, but by end of the week, many feel better than they have felt in ages.

The following week, during Part 2 of the diet, add back the foods each morning that were not eaten the previous week. Eat one each day, all by itself. . See which ones cause what in the next hour, or the next 8-12 hours or by next morning. Look for signs of arthritis, colitis, ear infections and eczema. You will quickly see what that food of does to how you act, feel, look, behave or learn within usually an hour. By the end that week you should know exactly which food or beverage causes what. If the whole family does the diet at the same time, you will have helped several family members. This diet alone has helped many with chronic multiple medical complaints. It unquestionably reveals unsuspected food allergies.

IMPORTANT: If you have asthma, check your breathing with a Peak Flow Meter, before and at the end of Part 1 of the diet. Then check again before and after each day during Part 2. of the diet. Do the same if you have heart problems but for this you check your pulse and blood pressure, again before and after Part 1 of the diet and at the start and end of each day during the Part 2 of the diet. If a food is at fault, you might find this relieves a cardiac problem and the need for medications. If you have memory, learning, activity or behavior problems, check your writing as indicated above. You will be astonished by how much you will find out if some foods are the cause or your medical problems.

If you also use an air purifier to remove dust, mold, pollen and some chemicals, you may improve faster and even more. There is minimal cash outlay. The diet is free and outlined in any of Dr Rapp’s books. The air purifier can be tried for four weeks.  If your improvement is not significant, send it back for a full refund — but you do have to pay for return shipping and restocking. Even so, the total cost is much less than the cost of one visit to a doctor.  Many people have found solutions to their family's health problems with this simple and inexpensive method.

December

Alert: Watch out for newer mattresses. They can contain as much as 1.5 pounds of boric acid in a queen sized mattress. Even the infant mattresses are polluted with this chemical which in diluted forms was found to be toxic for some infants when applied to the skin. This substance is toxic to insects and used as a flame retardant. If the mattress says it is” treated”, the treatment can be boric acid.

BUT, It is toxic to unborn infants, (pregnant mothers sleeping on one for 8 hours a night) and on the testicles of boys. It has been associated with low birth weight, eye malformations and problems with the nervous system. There are no studies to show this is not toxic when placed in mattresses. We need more research before this practice is continued and until then, beware of such mattresses in any age group.  Check out the detailed report on the Books/DVDs page.

Teflon

IS IT GOOD OR BAD? - Judge for yourself.

Here Are The Known And Published Facts:

What is the chemical that is a possible problem? It is called a fluorocarbon or PFOA, perfluorooctanoic acid.

How are we exposed? Some form of PFOA is emitted from very hot Teflon cookware. It is found in stain repellent products, food production, in cosmetics, electrical insulation tape, combustion engines and in chemical apparatus.

Health Effects In The Environment:

It lasts indefinitely in the environment and it never breaks down, even in the human body. ( In contrast the half lives of DDT and PBCs in the environment is decades.)

PFOA is in our water supply. DuPont failed to reveal they had contaminated the water supply of 12,000 people in 1991. The fluoride found in tap water can increase aluminum absorption from cookware 800 times causing immense potential harm to the brain. If cookware is scratched, it releases more aluminum and that contributes to Alzheimer's.

Health Effects On Wildlife:

This chemical impairs total body growth but it especially decreases the size of several major organs (brain, prostate, liver, thymus) in newborns.
Indoor tiny caged birds (finches and cockatiels) can die quickly from kitchen Teflon cooking use.

Newborn rats die in a few days from exposure to this chemical even though it does not affect the mother rats.

Rats develop a variety of cancers, i.e. pancreas, liver, pituitary, prostate, testis and breast. This has been recognized for decades.

Health Effects In Humans:

The chemical is found in the blood of 90% of the population. It is stored in the fat of the body.

It appears to pass into the placenta and into a mother's breast milk. DuPont research in 1981 showed traces of this chemical were found in the unborn child of a pregnant woman.

It interrupts normal hormone function.

It typically causes a flu-like illness such as chills and head and muscle aches.

Two of seven exposed female workers in PFOA chemical factories have more birth-damaged infants.

A few other exposed factory individuals expired from pancreas, prostate, and testicular cancer. These cancer relationships are discounted by some but the consistency of cancers among workers and in laboratory studies appears to be worthy of more consideration.

Response From The EPA:

The margin of safety exposure for children is only 7, but it should be 100. The EPA seems to be reluctant to accept a relationship between the evidence of health problems in animal research and similar illnesses in humans.

In Summary:

· PFOA lasts indefinitely in the soil and water.

· They are now found to be present in 96% of children.

· They are now found in breast milk.

· They are now found in uterine fluid.

· They unquestionably deplete the ozone layer contributing to global warming.

So  . . .  Toss Your Teflon !
